MS Access 97- Security - Username and password in a switchboard?

Is it possible that instead of having someone enter their username and password upon clicking to open the database, that i have them log in by clicking a box on my switchboard? I would like my database to open and lead you to a switchboard (Switchboard1) where the only options are ''Log in'' or ''exit''. When they click log in, i would like it to prompt them to enter their username and password. If successfull it will take them to another switchboard (Switchboard2). So in effect, everyone will have access to my database, I just want certain people with permission to be able to get past the 1st switchboard. I wish to do it this way to avoid having to use workgroups and having to go to each and every person's computer in my company and having their computers join the workgroup.

Yes, It's possible.

To ''secure'' the DB using the switchboard forms:

On Your DB Toolbar click TOOLS%26gt;%26gt;STARTUP and set the Options to ''lock down'' Your DB (turn off default menus and pop-ups, Hide the DB window, kill the ''special keys'', and set ''Switchboard1'' as the Startup Form.

Keep in mind that there is a ''backdoor'' built into MS ACCESS. Hold down the ''SHIFT'' key and It will bypass the STARTUP options, any ''on Open'' Module coding You put in, and any ''Autoexec'' Macros when You open the DB...
