IM using Norton but i would like to switch to McAfee. Do i need to format my computer before installing McAfee. Or can i juz uninstall? will i encounter any problems in my computer noy formatting?

Just uninstall, and run a remove program from norton, check their site for the removal tool.

just uninstall symantic before installing mcafee. no need to format your hard drive.
Uninstall norton. The norton removal tool did not work for me.
