WPA encryption router security and connecting?

Hey i have a wireless router and i set a network name and password using wpa encryption. Now the only problem is the computer with a wireless netgear card won't pick up the signal of the router? Windows XP doesn't give any available networks to connect to even though I know one is there.

Does anyone know how to get my wireless computer to recognize the existence of this newly encrypted network?

The router is a D-link Rangebooster N (dr-625) revision A) and the adapter is a Wg113t Netgear wireless G but they have always seemed to be compatible before the encryption.

Thanks in advance!

Most new laptops have a button to turn on and off the wireless (incase you're working on an airplane). Make sure the wireless is turned on. There should be an indicator light that looks like a radio tower. Beyond that, not sure.

addition...

Could also change the network to WEP encryption. I remember having trouble trying to use my sister's WPA network with a PC....but our Mac worked fine.
